About the SLFRC

The School Level Fee Regulation Committee (SLFRC) is a statutory and mandatory committee constituted under the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Act, 2025. The committee has been established to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in the fixation and regulation of school fees.

The SLFRC provides a structured platform where parents, teachers, school management, and government representatives come together to review and evaluate the proposed fee structure of the school. Instead of unilateral fee announcements, the process now follows a collaborative and legally defined mechanism, ensuring that fee revisions are justified, reasonable, and aligned with actual institutional costs.

Role & Objectives of the SLFRC

  • To prevent arbitrary or unjustified fee hikes

  • To ensure transparency in fee fixation

  • To give parents and teachers a formal voice in fee-related decisions

  • To examine school expenditure, infrastructure needs, and financial justifications

  • To ensure that decisions are time-bound and publicly disclosed

  • To promote trust and cooperation between parents and the school

Once approved, the fee structure generally remains fixed for a specified period, providing stability and clarity to parents.

 

Composition of the SLFRC

As per the prescribed guidelines, the SLFRC typically comprises:

  • School Principal

  • One Management Representative

  • Three Teacher Representatives

  • Five Parent Representatives (selected through a transparent process such as a lottery)

  • Two Nominee from the Directorate of Education (DoE)
